Thanks to many of our network members who have taken the time to update their listing in our Contractor Directory. We have tips for those who have not had the chance to maximize their online exposure. Thousands of project owners a day are scanning our Directory, looking for your services, and we want them to choose your business.Do You Do That?
Many have signed up to view leads in other categories than the ones they perform. Now would be a great time to check your "Preferences" to make sure you're not listed in a category that you don't do. Avoid calls for services you cannot perform.
A Rose By Any Other Name
Does your company provide more than one service? Probably. Consider a name change for your listing if you do. If your business is listed as "Joe's Painting" and you also do drywall, it's a good bet that you might not receive many drywall job calls. Try "Joe's Painting & Drywall" or "Joe's Remodeling".
Project owners want to know you can help before they pick up the phone.
Capitalization Infatuation
A few of our network contractors do not know where the shift key is on their keyboard to make a capital letter. Others use nothing but all CAPS. Do your business a favor and put your best foot forward. Update your business description, company name, and even your contact name with correct capitalization. To most computer users, THIS LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE SHOUTING AT THEM!
and this looks like joe's plumbing service just doesn't care. don't you think? make sure you capitalize when and where necessary. believe me. and it's necessary. right, joe?
Simply open up your copy of the yellow pages and see if you can notice all the correct capitalization, grammar, slogans, and business information. Present your company well and they just might call you...
