How do I know that I need to hire a Contractor?Professional contractors, remodeling specialists, and handymen have access to tools, supplies and suppliers who can provide better deals or discounts. These
professionals have previous work experience with various subcontractors which allow them to keep costs under control and monitor the quality of their work. |
Is it expensive to hire a Contractor?There are costs associated with any project and they must be factored into the budget. If possible, try to get several bids from several contractors.
Contractors have the expertise, the expensive tools, and the time to complete the project. There have been many cases of contractors being hired to fix the problems caused by a
do-it-yourself project owner. |
What does it cost to submit my project to ConstructionDeal.com?ConstructionDeal.com does not charge property owners for submitting their projects. There is no cost for registering with us. Contractors can also use
our free service to find subcontractors for their construction projects. |
How many Contractors will respond to my project?The number of responses is entirely up to you! You can choose how many contractors you would like to bid on your project - up to 5, up to 7, up to 10,
or even an unlimited amount of responses. Once the project has received the maximum number of responses from our network of Contractors, it will be locked and you will be notified
by email. If you are happy with the number and quality of Contractors who contact you, you can close the project. However, you may also re-post the project if you did not receive
enough bids or if you did not like the bids received. We will ask you to comment on the reasons for re-posting the job and the project will be submitted to the rest of our network
to bid on. Once any time limit on the project has expired, you will be notified by email that you may re-post it, as well. |
How soon will I get responses from Contractors?As soon as we confirm your project and verify your information, we will release the project to our list of Contractors in your area. Hopefully,
contractors will call you the same day or within a few days to start the process. |
Where do you find your Contractors?Our contractors register with ConstructionDeal.com and provide their information to us. We scour the country looking for qualified professionals.
We do not recommend any contractors that have been given poor reviews or if any project owners have given negative feedback. |
How do I know the Contractors are qualified?It is always important for a project owner to do the necessary due diligence when hiring any contractor or service professional. Always ask if
the contractor is licensed and insured. Always ask for references from recent satisfied customers. |
What if I have a problem with the Contractor?Before any work begins, lock down written quotes and contracts. With any remodeling or construction project, problems come up. Always try to
work with your contractor to resolve any issues. Project surprises can create unexpected costs and delays but communication with your contractor is important. For example,
if a contractor says the project will take 10 days, don't assume it will be two weeks in a row. It may be 10 days over the course of a month. In extreme cases, you can
report unsolvable issues to your State Contracting Licensing Board and the
Better Business Bureau. |
How important are "the details" in the description of my project I submit?Very. The more information you provide to us, the greater the chances are we can find the right contractor for you. The "Project Details" section of
the submission page is there to make sure we know exactly what you would like done, the scale of the project, the location, and any other details missing from the pull-down menus. |
What if my project is not listed as one of the categories?Try to choose a category that is closest to your project and provide the rest of the details in the "Project Details" section. For example, if you wanted
to have a new garage door installed, you could select "Fencing" or "Home Improvement" and in the description you could enter the request for a new garage door. We will call you to
help make sure your project goes out to the right professionals. |
How do I remove my project after I've found a contractor?Go to the main page www.constructiondeal.com and under the "Members Sign In" area, enter your email address and enter your
Zip Code for your password. Click on the project you wish to close. Then click on CLOSE PROJECT, at the bottom of the screen, and click on the GO button. You can also set a time
limit on how long you'd like your project to remain open. |
Can I post more than one project? How do I do that?Yes, many project owners would like more than one contractor. Some project owners also act as their own contractor and use our service to hire
subcontractors. Go to the main page www.constructiondeal.com and under the "Members Sign In" area, enter your email address and enter your Zip Code
for your password. Click on CREATE A NEW PROJECT and do this for every project you have. Don't forget to close them once you have selected your contractor. |
Am I obligated to hire any contractors you refer to me?No. You are under no obligation to work from the list of contractors we provide to you. You can set up a project and cancel it at any time. Our service
is here to provide you with qualified professionals to complete your project right but there are no requirements to hire them. |
