What Does Drywall Cost?

06 March 2007

We talked to one of our remodeling contractors who specializes in drywall work to find out specific costs.

These cost estimates are only for informational purposes and they may vary from project to project, and state to state, but it will give you a good idea. Having this information could help give you a budgeting idea so that you can get an accurate picture of what your renovation project might cost.

Most drywall sheets are 8 feet by 4 feet. Our Florida drywall pro said that he charges per sheet:

To Hang a Sheet:
$7.00

To Tape a Sheet:
$7.00

To Texture a Sheet:
$4.00

So, think of your expenses as roughly $18 per sheet of drywall.

Specialty work, different types of drywall used, and overall project requirements can certainly add to costs, but that should be a good "jumping off" point for your budget ideas.

If you need to find a local drywall company, post your request with Construction Deal.com. We'll match you with a sheetrock installation specialist to help you complete your remodeling plans. And it's a free service for all our homeowners.
